Ulf Andersson, who was part of the beloved co-op heist game series Payday and now serves as CEO and creative director at 10 Chambers, announced that they are developing a new game. He also emphasized how passionate he is in this field. It has been 2 years since the last news for Payday 3 and while the release date of the game mentioned at that time is approaching, it seems that the new game of the series will come with a new opponent.
10 Chambers is developing a new co-op heist game
Although Payday dominates the market in this area, there may be the arrival of a new competitor. Ulf Andersson, who previously worked in the series and now works at 10 Chambers, says that they are developing a new game and they are trying very hard to make it good. Emphasizing that the number of games that we can enter and rob with friends is very small and wants to evaluate this gap in the sector, the developer made the following statements:
“For me, it’s just a game that needs to be done. I’m back in the business of a cooperative heist FPS game with a kind of techno-thriller theme.”
Andersson also noted that the new game can be distinguished from the Payday series in many different ways. The upcoming game is designed to be a bit easier than GTFO. When comparing it to the developer GTFO, he said “mechanically smooth and a little easier to play”. He also said the project doesn’t have a name yet. In order to avoid excessive promises, a release date has not been set for the game and they will develop the pre-production stage until it is ready.
Payday developer studio Starbreeze, on the other hand, is still losing money according to its second-quarter financial results. We can say that the company’s face did not smile. A large part of their revenue is still provided by the Payday series. 96% of the studio’s $2.9 million net sales come from Payday. Considering this, it is possible to say that Payday 3 is still in a shaky state.
