The latest update to Forza Horizon 4 completely spoils the game on Xbox Series X/S consoles, as reported by gamers. So much so that players are even prevented from running Forza Horizon 4.
Forza Horizon 4 update causes problems with next-generation Xbox consoles
A thread on the Xbox Series X Reddit page advises players on the problem. “Don’t update Forza Horizon 4,” he says.
“There is a new update around 7GB. It spoils the game.” “The game will not work on Series X/S consoles after this update. Not only me, but all forza players have the same problem. My Xbox gave me a black screen, and when I first tried to open the game, it crashed immediately.”
Responses to the post from many different Series X/S owners suggest that they too have experienced this problem, and at the end of yesterday the official Forza Support Twitter accountposted a message confirming that there was a problem.
“We are aware of a crash affecting Series X and Series S players in the latest Forza Horizon 4 update,” he said. “We’re working on a fix and it’s going to be released soon.”
They also advised players that there was a solution but warned that their progress could be erased. “The current solution is to launch your console offline and then bring it back online with the help of the Xbox Series X/S dashboard” they said. “If you have already deleted your local files, do not try these steps. This will cause you to lose your progress and start the game from scratch.”
As they later stated, the team is working on a fix and will probably release it later today. They thank the players for being patient.
