In January 1994, game developer Frontier Developments, founded by David Braben and based in Science Park in Cambridge, England, announced the acquisition of Canada-based studio Complex Games. Complex Games is the developer of Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters. Frontier Developments has acquired a development studio for the first time, a first for itself.
Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters, developed by Complex Games, was released for PC via Steam by Frontier Foundry (Frontier Developments’ release label) on May 5.
Complex Games was founded in 2001
Complex Games, the development team acquired by Frontier Developments, was founded in 2001 by Noah Decter-Jackson and Adrian Cheater. The team currently has a squad of 20 people with extensive experience in a wide variety of game genres and platforms.
Various explanations were made after the purchase. After this acquisition, Complex Games rolled up its sleeves to develop even more ambitious games. This acquisition will enable the Complex Games team to grow and develop.
Among those announcing this acquisition is Complex Games CEO Noah Decter-Jackson. Jackson said, “Working with the Frontier team on Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters has been a great experience for us. We’re currently making growth plans with this acquisition, and I’m pretty excited about it. I am really proud of the achievements of Complex Games and I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this success for many years. I look forward to developing more great games in the future as part of Frontier.”
