It is claimed that the Indie firm Fullbright studio is among the gaming companies recently accused of creating a negative business environment within the company. Polygon Steve Gaynor, one of the studio’s founders and also the chief Creative Director, allegedly removed her from the firm because of her “ego” and obsession with control — especially women.
It is stated that Gaynor considers himself everything of the company and that many employees leave the company for reasons such as “if I go, this place will go down”, and “apply psychological pressure” by publicly humiliating the employees with whom he disagreed.
Fullbright studio accused of creating oppressive business environment
In an interview with Polygon, a former Fullbright employee claims there is a very different environment within the company, which has signed independent games such as Tacoma, Gone Home and often puts women at the forefront of their games. “I get sick to my stomach when I think about how Steve Gaynor continues to write stories centered on women and how he treats them in real life,” the interviewer said.
Steve Gaynor said on Twitter that he voluntarily stepped down as Creative Director of the firm’s new game Open Roads earlier this year. Gaynor apologized, saying he was aware that his conduct while leading the project made it difficult for many people to work.
