Galatasaray Espor has announced its departure from the League of Legends Championship League. Thus, after Fenerbahçe and Aurora, one of the teams that withdrew from the League of Legends scene was Galatasaray Espor.
Galatasaray Espor’s press release;
“As a result of the status change made in League of Legends, it has been reported that the champions of the Turkish Championship League will not be able to participate in the MSI and Worlds World Championships. Based on this change, we would like to inform you that we have decided to withdraw our Galatasaray LoL Team, which will not participate in the high-level competition with its local competitors, from the League of Legends Championship League.
In the League of Legends Championship League, which we joined in 2017, we competed for 8 seasons and created competitive teams in the Championship League and tried to make our valued fans watch a good Galatasaray. Since 2019, we have participated in the play-off stage 6 times in the 7 seasons we have participated.
In 2021, as the champion of Turkey, we proudly represented our country and our coat of arms in the League of Legends World Cup (Worlds 2021) held in Iceland. In 2022, we finished second in the Lol Championship League Winter Season.
