Texas-based stüdyp Gearbox Entertainment Company announced the establishment of Gearbox Studio Montreal, its second-largest expansion after it opened Gearbox Studio Quebec in 2015.
Sebastien Caisse and Pierre-Andre Dery, the industry’s competent names, will jointly lead the new studio, which will employ 250 staff.
Gearbox Studio Montreal will include a “passionate group working to bring fun and joy to the world”. Studio co-president Pierre-Andre Dery will oversee the hiring.
Dery said: “Based on Gearbox’s long and creative history, we are excited to work on the Borderlands franchise and create a new development team to produce new IPs in Montreal.”
