On the newest episode of the XboxEra Podcast, Nick Baker said he believes a Master Chief Collection-style remaster version of Gears of War could be released later this year. Actually, Baker first said “another Microsoft series”, but later when he labeled that part of the broadcast as “Oh, Gears Collection?”, it became clear that the series he was talking about was Gears of War.
“Maybe the E3 announcements will be a collection from a Microsoft lineup,” Baker said.
The Coalition, which developed the Gears of War series, said at the beginning of 2021 that “we should not wait for news about the new game of the series for a long time.” It makes sense for them to fill this gap with a Halo-style Collection remaster.
The first game in the series was remastered and re-released in 2016 under the name Gears of War Ultimate Edition, but Gears of War and 3 are not currently available for PC.
In the meantime, let me remind you that one of the games on Nvidia’s leaked GeForce Now list is Gears 6.
I’ll probably get information about this game at the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase, which is scheduled for June 12.
