Facebook has announced its new Ghostbusters VR game towards the end of Meta’s Meta Quest 2 event today. Ghostbusers VR, announced in a short cinematic trailer, is being developed in partnership with Sony Pictures Virtual Reality and nGames. It’s exciting that a new production is coming from the Ghostbusters universe. The game, which will also feature a Co-op feature, will be set in San Francisco. According to press releases, the game will expand the Ghostbusters universe and will not be linked to other games.
What awaits us in Ghostbusters VR?
Ghostbusters VR allows its players in San Francisco to set up a ghost hunting business to solve paranormal mysteries. Players who will be tasked with de-ghosting the city will be able to play alone or play the story in the co-op for up to three people. It’s reassuring that the game is being prepared by nDreams, known for games such as Phantom: Covert Ops and Far Cry VR: Dive Into Humanity. Another detail that stands out in the trailer is the presence of iconic devices in the game, such as the proton pack we know from the Ghostbusters series.
Although the release date of the virtual reality game has not yet been announced, Meta has promised to share more information about the game in the coming months. Ruth Bram, one of Oculus’ producers, said at the start of the broadcast that the releases of the games introduced at the event were scheduled for next year. Other highlights at the event were Resident Evil 4 The Mercenaries, Among Us VR, The Walking Dead: Saints & sinners – Chapter 2 and Cities VR.
