God of War, one of the greatest games of all time and which managed to take most Game of the Year awards to the museum in 2018, was also released for PC on January 14, 2022.
It’s not a month since the game’s release, but its sales are growing steadily, making Sony smile. About two weeks ago, steamspy compiled data that the game sold more than 1 million and settled in the range of 1 to 2 million.
SteamSpy’s God of War PC page has been updated, bringing the number of new players to between 2 million and 5 million.
SteamSpy reaches these statistics by identifying players who own the game through Steam, and can only do so through public profiles. It’s obvious that the number will increase even more when we include locked profiles, and the game is available not only on Steam, but also in the Epic Games Store. It is possible that God of War PC sales have reached significant numbers, especially during the Epic Games Store’s discount and coupon period.
That means the current sale of the game is 2 million, but the actual number is well above that.
Sony announced earlier this month that it was extremely pleased with the game’s PC sales , probably sharing real sales figures with us soon enough so we can better understand how satisfied they are.
