God of War Ragnarök finally appeared in a trailer last week. Some people are happy with what they see, some aren’t happy. But the obvious thing is that it’s the game that a lot of gamers are most looking forward to right now.
At last week’s PlayStation Showcase, we learned that Cory Barlog had handed over the director’s chair to Eric Williams. However, Barlog continues to support the game.
In an interview with kaptain Kuba YouTube channel, the two share some information about the new game. One of the details that can attract attention here is Barlog’s commentary on why they decided to end the story about Nors Mythology in 2 games.
Barlog; Santa Monica Studio says they made the decision because they didn’t want to keep the players waiting 15 years for a trilogy to be completed.
“One of the most important reasons was that the development of the first game took 5 years. I don’t know exactly how long the second game will be completed, but it will be more or less that time. Considering you’ve waited so long for a third game, it takes a total of 15 years to complete a trilogy — which I think is a very long time,” he says.
He says that Atreus and Kratos are the focus of this new story, telling a story that focuses on the duo’s relationship, so the two games offer enough space (and time) for what they want to present.
After naming the game Ragnarök anyway, it was also supposed to end nors mythology 🙂 Let’s see where our God of War adventure stops next. Egypt is the strongest candidate on this issue. But as in the previous game, we can see signs of it in Ragnarök. It’s worth keeping an eye on 🙂
