A possible adaptation of GoldenEye 007 Xbox, which has been frequently brought up in recent months, may become official in a few days. The popular first-person shooter was originally developed by Rare in 1997 for Nintendo’s N64 console. The game was inspired by the James Bond film Goldeneye. Among the features that attracted attention in the game according to the time were various death animations that changed depending on where the character was shot from, and the possibility of playing Splitscreen.
GoldenEye 007 was started in development for Xbox 15 years ago
Microsoft and Rare began work on a Remaster of GoldenEye 007 in 2007. The game was intended to be brought to the Xbox 360. Although the project was almost complete, it had to be stopped due to license disputes.
Earlier this year, the leak of the game’s achievements on the TrueAchievements site caused a stir again. Some fans of the production noticed this week that several members of Rare’s development team have these achievements.
Upon realizing that the achievements in question are also on Xbox’s official site, it seems that only official explanations are missing for the game to meet its players soon. Although Twitter User Wario64 has shared screenshots of the achievements, they can no longer be found on the official site when the achievements are searched.

In 1997, the game, which could not debut because it was banned in some countries, still sold 8 million units and became one of the best-selling N64 games. Its restrictions were lifted as of October 2021 at the request of the companies concerned. Details of the game, which will turn 25 in August, are likely to be announced during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase on June 12.
