Gotham Knights is one of the games we’ve been looking forward to, having also been on our “What We Expect: Superhero Games” list in 2022. Another member of the list, Suicide Squad, naturally stepped forward when it was postponed until next year, with eyes once again turned to it. And when the eyes are turned on you, new details are noticed, so 🙂
One Reddit user noticed a detail on the game’s PS Store page; accordingly, the game seems to support co-ops for up to 4 people (similar information is available on the PS Store Turkey page). However, the introductory text still reads “Patrol Gotham;s five distinct boroughs in solo-play or with one other hero”; “Play with one person or another hero in five different districtss of Gotham,” it says, so it’s too early to tell.
It was previously announced that the game could be played in a two-person co-op, suggesting that a change may have been made afterwards. The game’s four protagonists – Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin – may have switched to a formula that would be on stage at the same time.
It’s unlikely to say anything specific about these matters unless there’s an official announcement. There’s a chance we could see the Gotham Knights at Summer Game Fest. There, both this issue can be clarified and the release date can be clarified. Let’s squeeze our teeth for a while, see what we see, what we’ll learn.
