Sony has set the release date of the Gran Turismo movie for August 11, 2023. The new film, based on the popular racing video game series, is being developed by Neill Blomkamp and Columbia Pictures.
Gran Turismo is set in the script chair by Jason Hall. Jason Hall has previously written American Sniper and Thank You For Your Service. The producer is Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan of PlayStation Productions.
The film’s description reads: “Gran Turismo is based on a true story. It’s the story of a young Gran Turismo player making his wishes come true.”
Gran Turismo 7, the latest game in the Gran Turismo series, was released for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 in March of this year.
