Steam announced in October last year that it would not include blockchain games on its platform, and banned blockchain and NFT games. Epic Games made the opposite statement and said that NFT games (and other games that use blockchain technology) could be listed on the Epic Games Store.
Tim Sweeney stated that their condition in this regard was that they “comply with the relevant laws, clearly state all their terms and conditions, and have the appropriate age restriction.”
Here is the first NFT game on the Epic Games Store, Grit developed by Gala Games. Grit is a battle royale game set in the wild west and contains many different NFT elements.
The gala will release 10,000 player avatars for Grit, and owners will be able to customize them as they wish. Avatars will find their owners with the sale of “Gunslinger;s Box”.
Grit will debut later in the year and will use Epic Games’ own Unreal engine.
