For GTA Online PS3 and Xbox 360 players, it seems to have come to the end of the road. Frankly, I didn’t even think personally that the servers were still open for these two consoles. Rockstar Games, which still has support for two generations, announced the closure of GTA Online PS3 and Xbox 360 servers.
GTA Online PS3 and Xbox 360 servers are shutting down
Rockstar gave a full date in a statement and announced that as of December 16, online services for GTA Online on PS3 and Xbox 360 would be closed. In addition to the server shutdown, details such as statistics and leaderboards about these versions will not be available on the official site of the game on the same date. The statement also said statistics for games such as Max Payne 3 and LA Noire would not be available as of September 16.
Rockstar said in a statement that GTA Online is shutting down these services to focus on updates and support on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The decision is also seen as preparation for versions of the game on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and could be available in the final spring
GTA 5 was first released on PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 17, 2013. Immediately afterwards, we encountered PS4, Xbox One and subsequent PC versions of the game. Rockstar games, which made a big profit with GTA Online, postponed the GTA 6 announcement as the biggest reason for its success.
