GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition sales seem to have exceeded expectations despite the incredible reviews the game has received. At least not according to the latest financial quarter report from Take Two Interactive, the umbrella firm of Rockstar Games. GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition Cyberpunk had a worse debut than 2077, with incredible errors and performance issues.
GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition sales exceed expectations
Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick mentioned the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition in his latest financial quarter report — in addition to the GTA 5 coming to the next generation of consoles in March and officially announcing GTA 6 at the end. Zelnick is pleased that the game has reached sales numbers that “far exceed expectations.”
Zelnick acknowledged that while he was very pleased with the game’s sales statistics, the Definitive Edition was a “disappointment”:
“Our first priority as a company is always to bring quality games to the market that will offer the best experience to the players. Quite rarely do we fail to meet expectations, and the GTA Trilogy was an example of this. You can rest assured that we will fix the GTA Trilogy games that have been released with some issues by bringing continuous updates.”
Strauss Zelnick says players will continue to develop games of the quality they are used to and are very confident about the games they will release in the future.
