NVIDIA was the target of a massive hacker attack this weekend, and information and source code that it would never want leaked were scattered. Internal information about future NVIDIA hardware such as critical driver source codes, method of disabling LHR for mining, Blackwell architecture is among those leaked. But perhaps the most important of these was the leaking of DLSS’s source code.
C++ files, titles, and items appear in the shared screenshots. There’s also a Programming Guide to help developers read code freely. Leaked DLSS; 2.2, the latest version.
Of course, competitors don’t have the chance to use these source codes directly, but they will be able to easily see and learn how DLSS works. In addition, the open source Linux driver community can bring DLSS to their platform.
In the wake of this leak, Nvidia may claim that every time competitors are new, it’s made using its own source code, but it’s unlikely to prove it.
This is nvidia’s second massive leak in years. Last year, GeForce Now’s game list was leaked, which included the names of several games that were supposed to come to PC; The list included God of War, Uncharted 4, Final Fantasy 7 Remake. God of War and Final Fantasy 7 Remake are out now, with Uncharted on the way. This is one of the signs that the list is completely authentic.
