The Halo Infinite coop campaign mode will not include an online matchmaking mode. There will be no matchmaking in the final version of the campaign mode, which is currently in beta. 343 Industries has announced that there will be “invite-based” gameplay instead of random players:
“The online matchmaking system will not be included in the final version of the game’s coop mode. With Halo’s own LFG (Looking for Group service) and the Xbox platform’s audio Discord conversation connection service, you’ll find your match in the game.
