The Battlefield 2042 development process has come to a complete halt, according to game journalist Jeff Grub. In its publication GrubbSnax, Group stated that the Battlefield 2042 development team has been transformed into a “dead team” and claimed that the team’s sole purpose was to improve the content promised by Electronic Arts.
Electronic Arts responds to claims that Battlefield 2042 development process has stopped
According to Grubb, the game will be abandoned after the previously promised content for Battlefield 2042 is developed by the aforementioned team, and EA will focus on the all-new Battlefield game.
“The skeleton team behind is trying to release Battlefield 2042 updates as quickly and cheaply as possible, which I can’t put any other way,” Grubb said, advising those who paid for the Premium Edition to “keep their expectations pretty low.”
Jeff Group also shared an email he received from Electronic Arts a few hours after the broadcast was completed:
“We have a massive team focused on making Battlefield 2042 even better for our players. We’re focused on the future of Battlefield 2042 and how we’re going to improve the game based on the feedback we’ve received from players.”
Battlefield 2042’s first season update, Season 1 Zero Hour, was released today.
