While HBO Max allegedly stopped its operations in Turkey, much more interesting situations emerged. The platform, which canceled successive series that did not give the expected, announced its new projects at a special financial meeting for shareholders the other day. At the meeting, which was personally presented by the CEO of the brand, David Zaslav, new projects attracted attention.
The most striking thing was the announcement that HBO Max and Discovery+ platforms would be united under one roof. For now, we do not have many details about the duo, who will join forces in 2023. The name of the new platform, its pricing style or the exclusive content in it still remains a mystery. On the other hand, it is stated that this new formation will have packages with no ads, few ads and fully advertised.
Although it is not clear for now, the platform may also host sports competitions, that is, it may have content that will require you to make a one-time payment to watch, called pay-per-view.
According to the announced roadmap, the platform will be opened to the Latin American region in the fall of 2023. The platform, which will be operational in 20 European countries in the first days of 2024, will be active in the Asia-Pacific region towards the middle of the same year. HBO also announced that the new platform will be launched in the last months of 2024 to 4 countries that are not given 4 different names.
