Speaking with GamesIndustry, PlayStation Studios President Hermen Hulst explained the acquisitions of studios such as Haven Studios and Bungie. He said their goal was to diversify the product range by offering more service games. But in doing so, he said, they won’t give up story-driven single-player games.
Hulst added: “Obviously we want to expand our product range by incorporating these studios and offer more service games to fans. But in doing so, we will not give up on story games. We will always continue to make these single-player story-based games like Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us and Horizon Forbidden West.
We’re on our way to a new formation for service games right now. In this direction, we are incorporating new talents.”
