Scalebound is one of the biggest snake stories in the gaming world. The game, which was intrigued when it was announced in 2013, was cancelled by Microsoft by 2017, which was scheduled for release. But he kept talking about the game, so he didn’t just die. In the middle of that year, Microsoft renewed the license for the game, making it say, “Did they change their mind?” but then the sound didn’t fade.
In 2019, rumors have emerged that the game will be released to Nintendo Switch . In the same year PlatinumGames announced that Scalebound will not be resurrected . In 2020, the state of the game was also asked by Phil Spencer, who appealed to players who still couldn’t believe the game had been cancelled, Spencer said: “I still want to say, maybe for people who still think something is being improved, it’s not being developed.”
It’s 2022 and Scalebound is back on the agenda. Hideki Kamiya of PlatinumGames said last week that she wanted to discuss Scalebound with Microsoft and called on Phil Spencer. “Phil! Let’s do this together!” said Kamiya.
Kamiya, vice president of PlatinumGames, told VGC that he’s not kidding about it.
“I’ve said this in interviews before and I haven’t had a reaction, this time I’ve had a big reaction and I’m very happy to see it. It’s not a joke, I’m extremely serious about it,” Kamiya says. He doesn’t say whether they’ve started interviewing Microsoft for Scalebound, saying “I can’t confirm or reject it.” But if Phil Spencer got the message, negotiations between Microsoft and PlatinumGames have either started or are about to begin.
