I don’t know about you, dear Gamers, but for me, Horizon Forbidden West was one of the most anticipated games this year. We finally get back to him, he’s got a few days left here to make his official debut. The review embargo was lifted 4 days in advance and we shared Erce’s review with you as soon as the embargo was lifted; If you haven’t browsed yet, I’d say look at it at the earliest opportunity, and I was thrilled to read how solid Aloy’s comeback 🙂
Review scores largely confirm this. As of the moment I broke the news, 102 reviews have been shared on Opencritic and 93 reviews have been shared on Metacritic, and the average score of the game on both sides is 89.
Let’s share some of the reviews as follows:
- GamingTrend – 100/100
- God is a Geek – 10/10
- Twinfinite – 5/5
- VGC – 5/5
- Geek Culture – 9.8/10
- PlayStation Universe – 9.5/10
- Gamegezer – 9.5/10
- Game Informer – 9.3/10
- Spaziogames – 9.1/10
- IGN – 9/10
- Push Square – 9/10
- Wccftech – 9/10
- GamesRadar+ – 4.5/5
- GamePro – 89/100
- Destructoid – 8.5/10
- VideoGamer – 8/10
- Attack of the Fanboy – 4/5
- VG247 – 4/5
- Stevivor – 6.5/10
- Gadgets 360 – 6/10
The fact that there are only four reviews that have been rated 7 or below so far sums up a lot. There seems to be a great deal of consensus that the game deserves praise both for its story and the innovations it brings in the gameplay, for its achievement in delivering a full open world and for the quality it captures technically.
Let’s see if it can get equally positive feedback from gamers and make its name among the much-loved games.
