Agony, a horror game in which you try to escape from hell, debuted in 2018. Madmind Studios soon released an “18+” version called Agony Unrated. But interestingly, this version of the game disappeared from its owners’ Steam libraries.
Soon upon realizing this situation, players began discussing the issue on the Steam forums. The problem, it is alleged, is that Madmind Studios gave Agony Unrated as a gift to the original game owners. The studio said in a statement that the problem stemmed from Steam.
Of course, the “18+” structure of the game comes to mind first, but the situation is not quite what it seems. While the production team said they had not yet been able to figure out what the problem was, steam said it was trying to resolve the issue.
In the Steam forums, it seems that a solution has been found to this problem. User “KARPOWSKİ” commented that the game was lost due to the fact that the link between the free Unrated version and the regular game was edited. Madmind Studios does not want to give Agony Unrated to players who will purchase the game for free, according to this user. And for that, there’s been a little adjustment to the package. Because of this arrangement, the package disappeared. The user even advised the studio to create a new package.
It’s interesting that users know more about Steam than producers…
