Intellivision Amico has been postponed for a third time and is expected to be released by the end of the year.
In a message originally sent to pre-orderers of the retro console and then shared on Twitter, Intellivision Entertainment said it faced international component procurement and logistical challenges.
“We would like to apologize for having to postpone the launch date we requested once again,” the message continued. “Despite these supply barriers that prevent all orders from being met, we are focused and committed to delivering to pre-ordered addresses by the end of the year.”
Amico was first announced in October 2018. Its release was originally scheduled for October 2020.
Pre-orders for Amico also went live in early 2020, and the console received more than 10,000 pre-sales in one week.
