At The Game Awards 2021, the 2021 game of the year award went to It Takes Two. Deathloop, a co-op-focused adventure game developed by Hazelight Studios, topped the list of Resident Evil: Village, Psychonauts 2, Metroid Dread and Rachet & Clank: Rift Apart
Josef Fare, the head of the studio on behalf of Hazelight Studios, received the award and presented it to his daughters.

One of the most original plays of the year, It Takes Two, cast the two actors as parents to a family about to divorce. To prevent this divorce, Cody and May’s daughters, with the help of a character named Dr. Hakim, turn their parents into dolls, and a series of events develops that require the actors to work together.
Josef Fare It Takes Two, who is extremely confident in his game, said before it was released that he would give $1,000 to anyone who would get bored with the game. It Takes Two also won the “Best Family Game Award” in the category, where it competed with 4 Nintendo games.
It Takes Twois currently 38 per cent off on Steam. Also announced at the Game Awards 2021 was Alan Wake 2.
