Gunn, who is currently working on his third Guardians of the Galaxy film for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will be back in charge of DCEU in the future. “James Gunn can always come back,” Walter Hamada, president of DC Films, said in a statement. Whenever he wants to do something, our door is open. He has a really great vision and has been a great partner for us. We know he’ll be back, we’ve planned more projects together.” and approved Gunn’s return. Of course, we’ll have to wait at least three years to see a new Gunn movie in DC. Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3 will be released in 2023, after which Gunn could return to DCEU.
