JBL’s Quantum series aimed at gamers is on the market with five different models and as someone who uses a lot of JBL products for myself, they were among the products I was most interested in recently. Quantum One is the top model of this series, and it’s a product that makes you feel it just like you took it out of the box.
Quantum One gives an extremely high quality impression as an exterior design, and when you take the product in your hand, the material quality makes you feel it. With a closed-back design, the drivers host a huge JBL log, which supports 3 zones of RGB lighting.
Suni leather ear cushions are extremely soft and supported by memory foam, and the headset fits comfortably on your head. Even with long use, you don’t feel much fatigue. The sponge support on the head bridge supports comfort in very thick and long uses. In general, I have to say, the product feels pretty solid. The weight is 370 grams we can’t say light, there’s nothing to criticize
I didn’t see any problem with the agonomics either. It turns the ANC on and off from the top, and the button just below it is assigned as the “calibration key” of JBL QuantumSphere 360 environmental audio technology, the headset’s omen, and we’ll get to the details soon. At the bottom there is the wheel of the volume adjustment button, it rotates forever, but %0 and you are warned 100% of the time.
Quantum One is a wired headset and comes with a very long and hard cable. This cable also allows you to adjust the balance between speech/game sounds. I must point out that the headset is not very suitable for transportation due to both its weight and its long cable.
I’ll get to your specifications. Quantum One gives you two virtualization options, DTS:X 2.0 and JBL QuantumSphere 360, in addition to stereo. In the games we tried, DTS: X 2.0 performed great as we are used to. Details such as where everything is, where it comes from, how far away it is are successfully communicated to you.
QuantumSphere 360 has incorporated head tracking technology into this virtuality. Even when you turn your head once you calibrate it, it calculates where the sound will come to you and obviously offers an extremely interesting experience in the early hours. I’d like to be able to try the headset with a VR device, but it wasn’t possible. Of course, since it is necessary to renew this calibration frequently (center the headset), a button has been put on the left drive for this. When you want to adjust the volume balance, all you have to do is look in the middle of the screen and press this button once.
ANC performance is sufficient considering that you will be sitting at the computer or in the living room. It doesn’t float enough when it sounds like a machine gun or an engine sound, but I don’t think you’re going to hang it around your neck and take the subway with Quantum One. I found the ANC performance a success. I can do the same praise for the removable boom microphone. The sound transmitted by the microphone is extremely clear and clean.
The JBL has a rightful reputation for music quality and we are not surprised by the Quantum One. The headset is a closed-back design, so the scene isn’t exactly spectacular, but the treble, mid, bass, in short, are all extremely balanced. Especially the bass sounds so clean, I’d say it’s the best player headset I’ve seen in a long time.
Flat settings I found a little too talistro-oriented, you can adjust any setting through the JBL Quantum Engine program, change settings such as RGB settings or surround sound as you wish. I like quantum engine very much, it opens quickly, there is no load on the system and it is extremely stable. You can quickly adjust all the necessary settings.
As you wish, let’s look at some console compatibility. I’m going to put it in right away, and I wish JBL had included a carrying case in the package because if you’re going to use it on multiple consoles at home, the cables are so messed up. The biggest reason for this is that the USB cable is not available on Xbox One, but it is fully supported on PS4. This allows you to adjust the balance between gaming and speech sounds on PS4. Unfortunately, details such as QuantumSphere 360 or RGB lighting settings are not available on either console, which slightly reduces the headset’s console allance.
The price for the JBL Quantum One is around 2400 TL. While multiplatform isn’t a high price for a headset that delivers high-quality, high-end music and gaming performance, this is one of the highest prices you can pay for any gaming headset on the market. Although it is rare for players to spend such large budgets on the headphone side, we need to say this immediately. The company has done its best regarding the Price of Turkey for this product, which is sold at the price of almost Astro A50 abroad. Of course, your budget will make the decision again.
