Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, the world’s richest man with a fortune of $177 billion, celebrated the release of Amazon;su New World;
New World continues to raise the bar for simultaneous players. The game, which hosted over 800,000 simultaneous players on the day of release, is now one of steam’s two most popular games, along with CS:GO, according to SteamDB data. More than 900,000 simultaneous players have been cast in the last 24 hours, and it looks like it will soon surpass the 1 million threshold.
Amazon has tried to get into the gaming business before, but it hasn’t gone beyond great failed business like the Crucible.
Bezos said of the release of New World:
“After numerous failures and setbacks on the playing field, we have succeeded. I’m proud of the whole team for their determination. See glitches as useful barriers to learning. Whatever your goals, no matter how difficult the situation, do not give up.”
Amazon continues to increase its New World servers and try to give players a smoother experience.
