Speaking on the official PlayStation Podcast, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan made several statements about the newly announced PS Plus service and library. In response to the question of which games will be included in the library, Ryan said that the new PS Plus library will feature big games.
Jim Ryan said of the new services and content: “Our new PS Plus library will feature big games. I’m going to do everything I can to make it happen.
In addition to our major publishers, we have small independent publishers. We also have over 200 partners working with us to add their games to PlayStation Plus. So our squad is really strong.
The library will feature big games such as God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Returnal in the first place. In addition, new games will be included to satisfy the players.”
On the other hand, first-party games, as Xbox Game Pass does, will not be included in the PS Plus service on the day of release. Ryan explains why: “Games like Xbox Game Pass will not be added to the service on the first day. Because I think this could damage the development of big-budget games.”
