John Madden is one of the names that will always be mentioned in the game world as well as in NFL history. When the calendars showed June 1, 1988, the first John Madden Football game to appear was the beginning of a dynasty that lasted for years. The NFL series, which would have been known as “Madden” for many years, will once again have the cover of John Madden exactly 20 years later.
Electronic Arts announced in an official statement that legendary NFL coach and commentator John Madden will be the new cover face of NFL 23. The famous sports figure, who passed away in December 2021 at the age of 85, will continue to live with the NFL series. EA wants to introduce the John Madden name to the next generation with three different cover designs.
According to Electronic Arts’ press release, these three covers coming with NFL 23 will reflect the important events in Madden’s life. The first represents the Super Bowl win with the Oakland Raiders in 1977, and the second represents Madden’s performance during the commentator era. The cover that will come with the All Madden Edition will be a remastered version of the cover of the original game.
