With veteran director Denis Villenueve and its large cast, the studio has started preparations for the second film without slowing down, and I hope this time it will be able to tell more stories. Josh Brolin, one of the stars of the film, also announced the date of the second film in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. Filming for Dune 2 will begin in July.
Answering a humorous question about the weight she gained, Brolin said, “I haven’t actually started working yet. We’re going to start shooting in July, and it’s time to start preparing. I was with Javier at the Oscars, and we showed each other our bellies, and I said to him, We have to be ready quickly.” and signaled that he was going to start a rigorous training program.
In addition to Brolin, Dune, which includes zendaya, Timothee Chalamet and Oscar Isaac, also won six Academy Awards last month. Dune 2 is expected to be released in 2023.
