Publisher Private Division and developer Intercept Games have postponed Kerbal Space Program 2 from the previously scheduled 2022 release year to early 2023. The game will debut on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
On the postponement, the creative director said: “Hi I’m Nate Simpson, the creative director of Kerbal Space Program 2. These days on the forums, I’ve seen how excited people are to see new developments and screenshots. But next to all this, there is a big concern: When will this game really be released? I can finally answer that question. Kerbal Space Program 2 will debut on PC in early 2023 and consoles after that.
We are planning to present you a tremendous game. To achieve this goal, we have assembled a team of passionate and talented people. At the same time, we have set ourselves a very high quality bar.
We want the game to deliver superior performance on all platforms. The graphics should be unique and engaging in exploring the universe.
Needing a little extra time will really lead to something of quality. We have a community with us that recognizes the importance of creating something of quality like you. I can’t tell you how important it is for us to have that.
Thank you so much for believing in us and we look forward to flying with you soon.”
Kerbal Space Program 2 is the sequel to the space-flight simulation Kerbal Space Program, which debuted in June 2011.
Players will experience next-generation space exploration in Kerbal Space Program 2 with exciting new tracks, stunning visuals, the colonial building, interstellar travel, multiplayer mode, and more.
