Knockout City, a dodge-top game released under the EA Originals brand of Velan Studios, will continue as a free-to-play game, leaving EA behind.
Velan Studios will release the game itself. “Without the incredible support of EA Originals, we wouldn’t have introduced Knockout City to the world. However, now that we are moving to a free-to-play structure, naturally the step we need to take is to take on the responsibilities of publishing and to start working even more closely in our player community.”
In fact, the game was especially loud with its release, with more than 2 million players playing the game during the trial. Then, of course, there were decreases in player numbers, but Velan Studios’ decision to make it free to play to revive the community of players vital to this type of game will have a positive impact.
Velan added: “Knockout City will start this spring in the 6th century. It’s free to play with the season! We look forward to introducing our game to millions of new players from around the world by eliminating the price tag”
It was already possible to try the game without buying it until level 25. Players who buy the game with money will also receive a “loyalty pack” in Season 6, which will include exclusive legendary cosmetics, an XP bonus and 2000 Holobux.
