Hideo Kojima shelved one of his long-planned projects on the grounds that it was too similar to Amazon’s famous series The Boys.
“A team of private investigators would fight legendary heroes behind the scenes. I was thinking of Mads Mikkelsen for the lead role,” says Kojima.
Kojima also says in his message that he only watched the first three episodes of The Boys. The idea he had in mind was there before The Boys watched it, but when he saw the subject of the series, I think he gave up on it. Maybe that’s why he didn’t watch the rest of the show.
Considering that The Boys started to be released on Amazon in 2019, we can say that Kojima’s game project would be the next game after Death Stranding. In other words, he will have worked with Mads Mikkelsen on two projects in a row.
Kojima is currently working on a cloud-based game with Xbox, and it’s claimed that this game is a horror game called Overdose .
