Hideo Kojima won’t like the name Death Stranding: Director;s Cut, which he explained on Twitter what to expect in this new version of Death Stranding. Kojima is not happy that he has such a name for his own game.
According to Kojima, the term “director’s fiction” (i.e. Director;s Cut) does not include adding anything new, it means remixing what happened or adding the parts that were cut during development.
“When you say Director;s Cut in a movie, additional adjustments to the version that is unintentionally shortened come to mind, either because the director has no right to edit or because his time should be shortened. In the game, it should not be what is cut, but what is added as an attachment. It’s like the Director’s Add-on. I mean, I don’t like to call it Director’s Fiction.”
Now, of course, here it’s actually lost in translation; There’s also a situation that we call it. We actually have a more accurate meaning because we use the term Director;s Cut as Director’s Fiction, but Since Cut also means Cut, Cut means Interruption, so Kojima bombarded the term 🙂
From here, we can see that Sony has decided on the name, whereas maybe names like Ultimate Edition or Game of the Year Edition might be more appropriate.
Death Stranding: Director;s Cut will add new story missions, new weapons, and even catapults to launch cargo.
