Kojima Productions has announced the introduction of a new business division in Los Angeles/California that will explore entertainment opportunities beyond video games, including film, television and music. The new division is headed by Riley Russell, who has worked at Sony Interactive Entertainment for nearly 28 years, serving in various roles, including chief legal officer and vice president of commercial affairs.
Russell told GamesIndustry.biz: “We have entered a new chapter. That’s why we’re so excited. The television, music and film division will feature creative and talented people in the gaming industry.”
In this context, Kojima Productions aims to make the productions currently under development a part of our popular culture. Although it is a global organization, the new division will be headquartered in Los Angeles/California.
Yoshiko Fukuda, business development manager at Kojima Productions, added: “In a fast-growing and ever-changing gaming world, it’s important to find new ways to entertain our fans and give them a different experience. Our new episode will take the studio beyond video games. Our creative narratives will gain more depth.”
