Konami Digital Entertainment announced today that its new game Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls will soon be released exclusively to Apple Arcade, Apple’s membership-based gaming service with more than 2,000 Premium games. With this service, Apple offers its users a rich collection of all-ad-free and free of charge, including not only new games, but also award-winning games that have become one of the most popular of all time in the App Store.
Based on the classic 2D action known and loved by Castlevania fans, Grimoire of Souls has 60 different levels, giving users the opportunity to choose from one of Castlevania’s five much-loved heroes, each with unique, special abilities. These characters are, respectively, Alucard, whom we know and love from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Simon Belmont, the unforgettable hero of the original Castelvania, Maria Renard, the intrepid vampire wizard of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, Charlotte Aulin, the famous witch of Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, or Shanoa, the queen of symbols of Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia.
Players will be able to master the character that best suits their style of play if they wish, or they will be able to browse each character and choose to use the one that best suits the level in front of them. The game will also include daily/weekly missions.
The series’ creators, Ayami Kojima and Michiru Yamane, were also involved in the development of grimoire of souls. Known for his work in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow and other Castlevania games, Kojima designed new and key characters introduced in grimoire of souls. Yamane composed the main theme of castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Genso Suikoden III, creating unforgettable melodies.
Grimoire of Souls will be available in 16 languages. These languages are English, French, Canadian French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, Turkish, Brazilian Portuguese, Dutch, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Korean and Japanese. The game will be available on iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Mac and Apple TV; and will come with support for both the joystick and keyboard.
