Sony’s mini Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand, with spider-man characters. The studio, which first staged Spider-Man’s most iconic enemies, Venom, alone, wants to expand its arsenal with Morbius and Kraven. Of course, it still seems strange to me that all these enemies will be brought to the screen without Spider-Man, but I’d like to think Sony knows something. Chameleon, one of the main characters in the kraven film, has also been named.
We’ll see Fred Hechinger, who we’ve known from The White Lotus before, playing Dmitri Anatoly Nikolayevich Smerdyakov. Don’t mind how long his name is, even though his short name is Anatoly, if you ask him chameleon in the Marvel Universe, everyone will know him. The most special thing about chameleon being in this film is that he has a direct connection to Kraven. So he’s not just any enemy. Sergei Kravinoff;an anatoly’ half-brother; his childhood is spent being poisoned by the Kravinoff family. For young Dmitri, who doesn’t make up with Sergei, whom he calls the closest person to him, survival takes a different path.
As the name suggests, Anatoly, a great master of disguise, shape-shifting and spying, can present a great challenge to Kraven, both with the luggage he brought from his childhood and with his unique abilities. Sergei Kravinoff himself is a very interesting character. So while I’m concerned about some of Sony’s interesting projects like Madame Web, Kraven’s potential is really high. The kraven film, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, will be released on January 13 next year.
