Mattel has been announced as the character of He-Man (and, of course, Prince Man) in the new Masters of the Universe film, which will be released on Netflix. Allen, who has appeared in such series as American Horror Story and The Path, most recently playing Balkan in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story, is intrigued by how he will perform.
He was previously named Noah Centineo for his role as He-Man, because he said he would play He-Man on The Tonight Show in 2019 and that he was very excited, explaining that He-Man was working the line “I have the power!” Whatever happened next, things changed.
Filming will begin in the summer of this year and will be directed by the Nee Brothers (The Lost City, Band of Robbers).
There was another He-Man film, made in 1987, in which He-Man; Dolph Lundgren, Skeletor; and Frank Langella. It’s impossible to say he’s been successful at the box office, but he still has cult status in his own way, of course.
