The free ARPG (Action Role-Playing) MMO, Lost Ark, has broken steam servers. Originally made in Korea and released in 2019, Lost Ark Online came to Steam yesterday for players in the West to play as well.
Although the game’s main release date is February 11 (this Friday), players who get early access have been trying to get into the game since last night.
Lost Ark locks down Steam servers
Lost Ark officials said they were aware of the problem and valve was working on Steam servers . However, steam servers again struggled with difficulties as players who managed to download the game tried to enter Lost Ark. Lost Ark’s load on Steam servers is said to exceed Halo Infinite many times.
A new MMO, especially a free MMO, has caused steam a bit of a headache. Let’s just say that Lost Ark’s distributor in the West is Amazon. The Steam bandwidth of Halo Infinite has increased to 23.5 Tbps, up to 30 Tbps last night and over 40 Tbps today. We can understand how much load this places on Steam with the number of players. Lost Ark’s instant player count is currently close to 600,000 players.
