Marvel’s Avengers is one of those games where I go back and forth between different opinions when I talk about it. On the one hand, I think it’s a game that’s managed to gather so many superheroes in a game and offer different gameplays for each one, and it doesn’t have a bad story. I mean, I’m one of those people who thinks it would be so much better if they didn’t have to worry about making this game a live service, if they walked through the one-man script. But Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have drawn such a path, there’s not much to call them.
From this point on, the things that can save such a game will be the content that is added later. For the Avengers, character updates came first, followed by War for Wakanda content, followed by Spider-Man. The addition of the game to Game Pass is also a development that can increase the number of players.
Just as we were thinking, “Will he come back from here or start packing up?”, Thanks to Square Enix, he made a good move and made us immediately withdraw this question. Before the game came out, there was one thing they underlined over and over again; in-game purchases would only offer cosmetic content. However, it now appears that they have abandoned this decision. After that, it is also possible to get packages that will double your experience in the game or increase the loot you collect. So the one who gives the money will be able to move faster in the game.
This news, of course, has angered a significant part of the game’s followers. Whenever xp boosts like this come into play, there are concerns/criticisms that a system that forces players to spend more money to enjoy the game comes with it, and that the balance in the game is disturbed.
There’s not much to say about it; I think it’s a move that can attract new players and take away what’s at hand. What do you think about that?
