Before Baby Yoda appeared, Disney’s favorite baby character was Groot. With Guardians of the Galaxy 2, our tiny Groot, one of everyone’s favorites from seven to seventy, is getting ready to grow before our eyes. Together with Disney+’s new animated series I Am Groot, we’ll be on a journey into Groot’s adolescence through short short episodes. Marvel, who also shared the first official poster from the series, did not neglect to take Groot on vacation. Disney+ also announced the release date of the series. I Am Groot will begin streaming on August 10.
Looking at the poster, Star-Lord’s gorgeous cassette player catches your eye. We will probably see Guardians of the Galaxy members in the series in abundance. Especially Groot, who has a great dynamic with Rocket, promises a lot of potential in his fun moments. James Gunn, who the MCU had a troubled period but reconciled, will serve as a producer on this series.
Groot will be voiced by Vin Diesel as always. With its short episodes and entertaining nature, I Am Groot seemed to me to be a series to watch while eating something. I hope we see the James Gunn influence in this series a lot.
