Marvel’s What If…? According to the authors, they intended to add a Star Wars character to the series, but the idea was later abandoned. In an interview with collider, lead writer AC Bradley and director Bryan Andrews talk about their efforts to bring the two brands together.
Marvel’s What If…? He couldn’t merge with Star Wars.
Bradley and Andrews said in an interview on their website.
“I almost had an obsession with adding a Star Wars character to the project,” Bradley said, adding that “we tried to combine universes at some point, but we decided that adding Star Wars here would be an exaggeration when we already had the Marvel universe. But I think luke skywalker would make a great Avengers member.”
While the idea of adding another universe to the MCU, far, far away, has been shelved for now, Marvel’s What If…? director Bryan Andrews hasn’t given up on that possibility. Andrews said, “Who knows what’s going to happen next? After the show aired, viewers loved the show enough and made a fuss, who knows what would happen in future episodes if the show really made a splash?” he said, leaving the door open to different possibilities.
