The news from Microsoft has again been a bombshell, dear Gamers. Immediately after rumors that Microsoft was about to finalize negotiations to acquire Activision Blizzard, Microsoft received an official statement and they bought Activision Blizzard for approximately $70 billion!
When Microsoft bought ZeniMax for $7.5 billion, the place was displaced, and now we’re talking about a financial acquisition almost 10 times the size of that. According to reports, the size of the acquisition is around $68.7 billion.
Everyone already knows what a big company Activision Blizzard is, but lately they’ve been rocked by serious scandals and looking for a way out of it. The company may have developed such a solution without losing any more value.
Bobby Kotick will remain CEO for now, but as soon as the deal is completed, Activision Blizzard will now be connected to Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer. Which means the Bobby Kotick era is coming to an end. Kotick will be on duty to report to Phil Spencer after the deal is completed.
Call of Duty, Warcraft, Candy Crush, Tony Hawk, Diablo, Overwatch, Spyro, Hearthstone, Guitar Hero, Crash Bandicoot, StarCraft and more are now microsoft;un! All these games will be added to Game Pass within a certain period of time.
Examples of studios operating under Microsoft include: Activision Publishing, Blizzard Entertainment, Beenox, Demonware, Digital Legends, High Moon Studios, Infinity Ward, King, Major League Gaming, Radical Entertainment, Raven Software, Sledgehammer Games, Toys for Bob and Treyarch.
