Microsoft president Brad Smith said they plan to bring the Call of Duty series to Nintendo Switch after the Activision Blizzard deal is successfully completed.
Brad Smith also reiterated that the acquisition does not mean activision Blizzard games will not be available on PlayStation consoles. If you recall, in recent weeks, questions have been frequently asked about “will the most popular Activision Blizzard games, especially Call of Duty, be exclusive to Xbox from now on?” However, Microsoft has announced that Call of Duty will continue to appear on PlayStation consoles during the current agreements, and nothing will change when those deals are over.
Smith now takes this sentiment even further, saying they want to see Call of Duty and other Activision Blizzard series on nintendo switch.
“One of the things we were very clear about as the review of this acquisition continued was that key names like Activision Blizzard; Call of Duty would continue to appear on Sony PlayStation,” Smith said.
“We want to bring this to Nintendo devices as well. Activision blizzard wants to bring other popular products that it owns, and we guarantee that they will continue to be on PlayStation. When Satya Nadella became CEO of Microsoft, the first purchase we made was Minecraft. September 2014. What we did with that acquisition is a clear indication of what we hope to do when we buy Activision Blizzard.
Microsoft continues to take positive steps in this regard and gain the appreciation of players.
