Moonbreaker early access process has begun
Developed by Unknown Worlds, creators of the Subnautica series Moonbreaker is a new turn-based, tabletop tactics game developed as a true digital miniature experience in a comprehensive sci-fi universe designed by author Brandon Sanderson (Mistborn series, Stormlight Archive, Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time). You can watch the official trailer video of Moonbreaker HERE.
Charlie Cleveland, Co-Founder and Gaming Director of Unknown Worlds, said, “Moonbreaker’s release into Early Access is just the beginning.” “Given Unknown Worlds’ history of repeating our games while in Early Access, we are committed to working closely with KRAFTON and the Moonbreaker community to make the game truly special and long-lasting. We see today’s Early Access announcement as the first of many milestones, and we look forward to our community seeing what we have to offer for this game in the coming months.”
Through accessible turn-based competitive gameplay, ongoing content streaming, and deep customization, Moonbreaker offers a variety of gaming experiences, especially for fans of tabletop tactics, turn-based strategy, and collectible card games. Players can lead their teams of Captains, Crew, and Reinforcements in fast-paced, turn-based combat with a variety of gameplay possibilities. With more than 50 Units (Captains, Crew, and Support) available at the start of Early Access, there’s no limit to team combinations.
Every feature of Moonbreaker is designed to capture the feel of a physical miniature game without real-world limitations. Players can take unit customization to the next level with detailed, intuitive, and ever-evolving painting tools. Custom palettes, beautiful touches, customizable team banners, and professional digital painting tools provide the perfect space for players to reflect on themselves. Players can paint their units using traditional painting techniques or admire the successful painting works created by professional miniature painters.
The opening of Moonbreaker to Early Access marks the start of its first season covering the Season Track. By playing the game and progressing through the Season Track, players will earn a variety of cosmetic items such as unit paints, paint palettes, stickers, team banner shapes, and a special death bot cosmetic for Extilior, one of the three captains offered in Early Access. The inaugural Season Track, which will last nearly four months, is available to all players for free.
Players can also experience the world created by Brandon Sanderson’s “Moonbreaker: Tales From the Reaches,” an exclusive podcast series written by New York Times bestselling author Dan Wells. Players can now listen to the first episode, “Extilior’s Story,” in-game or on digital podcast platforms including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, iHeart Media, Amazon Podcasts and Stitcher. These tunes will transport listeners to various locations across the Ranges — a tiny solar system whose moons are kept in orbit by a finite resource called Cinder — as listeners learn more about the game’s main characters and universe. Moonbreaker’s audio dramas will touch on many different points as they tell an engaging long story that will unfold for many years to come. A total of three voice dramas will be aired during the opening season of Moonbreaker, with additional voice dramas planned for each subsequent season.
