IGN recently claimed that the developers of Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Tekken and Guilty Gear will make announcements during EVO 2022 with a bit of a clickbait title. Ed Boon;u replied quickly and said, “Except for Mortal Kombat… I’m sorry,” he said, confirming that there will be no announcement of the new Mortal Kombat at EVO 2022.
Boon added that the spotlight should be on Street Fighter and other important fighting games.
Sony Interactive Entertainment said that a live event will be held during the EVOO and that special announcements will be made at this event. This year, the 20th anniversary of EVO, EVO 2022 will be held in Las Vegas from August 5 to 7.
It is unclear when the new game of the Mortal Kombat series will be announced. Mortal Kombat 11 was released in 2019.
