As you know, early access to Warner Bros.’s Brawler game MultiVersus is open to those who play the game’s closed alpha, Twitch;ten code earners, and Founders Pack purchasers. The open beta will start on July 26 and all players will be able to participate.
The first thing that caught the attention in early access was that there were two different currencies in the game. Coin that you can earn by playing the game and Gleamium, which can only be purchased for real money.
A significant part of the cosmetics in the game can only be purchased with Gleamium, so you do not have the chance to open them by playing the game. Currently, 4 of the 16 characters in the game are playable; you need to spend coins or gleamium to open others.
Gleamium currency is sold as a package and the prices are as follows:
- 450 Gleamium – $5
- 1000 Gleamium – 10$
- 2200 Gleamium – 20$
- 6000 Gleamium – 50$
The cosmetics that can only be opened with Gleamium in the game are as follows:
13 character costumes (14450 Gleamium), 9 Ringout VFX animations (9600 Gleamium), 13 Taunts (5300 Gleamium), 2 Sticker Emote (300 Gleamium), 1 Banner (350 Gleamium). That’s a total of 30000 Gleamiums. So you need to buy 5 of the 6000 packages, which is $ 250.
However, some of them are also hidden behind the Premium Battle Pass, and its price is 300 Gleamium. So you have to spend a total of $ 255 to have all the cosmetics.
Going forward, more characters will mean more cosmetics and more money. Warner Bros. will probably either reduce the price of cosmetics if it sees a certain level of backlash, or make a few more available by playing.
