As soon as MultiVersus entered the open beta, it quickly increased the number of players and became one of Steam’s most popular games. Warner Bros.’s Smash Bros.-like, free-to-play new game has seen a new peak with more than 144,000 players.

The game, which managed to get ahead of Apex Legends with this number of players, was of course behind the games such as Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Considering that even the closed beta of the game has around 60,000 players, it is not difficult to predict that this number will increase much more in the coming days. In fact, the number of players in the closed beta was the highest number of players ever reached among one-to-one fighting games in the history of Steam.

MultiVersus’ open beta began Tuesday in the United States, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. As you can see, the number of players is not included in Asia, but a big increase is expected with the opening of the game in China.
